Party's Over

Updated: Mar 15

The Democratic Party is not what it used to be.  It is also not what it fancies itself.  It also has no idea what it ought to be, no idea who leads it or who will lead it and its membership dwindles.  No Democrat would deny any of this.  Usually in life, there are moments of truth.  Humble realizations that it’s time to throw in the towel.  We’re there.

Hands down, the very saddest crisis in the Democratic Party is the crimes and lies committed by Democratic leadership with no accountability.  The second saddest crisis is the news media lies about these lies.  None of this can be denied.  The third saddest downfall is the consistently impractical propositions and policies that get offered for the country on the off chance that anything is proposed at all.  The fourth saddest component of the Democratic Party is a very, very, very strange thing that happened:  Trump Derangement Syndrome.  If you are angry at reading this, bear with me.

The Trump hatred is so big – monstrous -- larger than life.  Keep reading if you agree with me.  You hate every cell of Trump’s body.  You hate his gender, his ethnicity, his hair color, his skin color, his masculinity, his money, his plans, his promises, his successes, probably his houses, cars and children.  You hate him more than anyone you’ve ever hated in your life.  And consistent hatred can serve no party well.

But if you were asked why, you would not have a reasonable, coherent answer.  If you offered a coherent answer, you would not be able to prove it with a photo, video, action or explanation that is viable.

This is not adult behavior.    It is not reasonable to take a stand that you cannot support.  Period.  The ambiguous, loathing, overwhelming anxiety that you feel for reasons your thoughts misconstrue and therefore cannot portray is not rational.  Democrats do not report or state positions in a level way.

Here’s the fifth saddest crisis in the Democratic Party:  This swollen, raw emotion causes many otherwise perfectly nice, thoughtful people to do and say things that they would never do normally.  They will look back on their actions with regret.  Putting aside Democrat leaders’ massive secrets, crimes, coverups, and invalid accusations, it seemed the last straw of a dying party was at the Joint Session of Congress on march 4th.  This honorable, meaningful meeting was the site of reckless objection.  Objection is what makes our country great.  Reckless objection is the opposite.  One congressperson yelled, heckled, waved his cane and had to get removed from the chamber.  Congresspeople held up paddles bearing words of resistance like six year olds sticking their tongues out.  The proceedings do provide for mature, civil, respectful response.  All they needed to do was sit in their chairs quietly and wait to be called on.

There was mass confusion over when to support and when to protest.  The protesting is done demurely in the form of an intelligent argument when called at the conclusion of the President’s speech.  The supporting is done on the occasion of any good, great or grand accomplishment that is done on the part of any participant or guest.

It was sad and surreal to watch Democrats unable to let their hearts sing with pride, or let their hands clap or let a tear fall for the special citizen guests who have all endured extraordinary hardship or shown extraordinary valor and for whom promises of protection were pledged.  There is nothing natural about that.

Regarding the election Democrats cannot capture that they lost.  It was a fair, square election.  This behavior is so peculiar.  All the distaste and distain in the world cannot reverse the results.  Americans thoughtfully dropped their ballots in the box.  The outcome is the will of the people.  Do you not like this method?  Should your will prevail, instead?

Now, if the election were stolen that would be a whole another thing, wouldn’t it?  Best not go down that path.  That is a very, very different scenario.

The simple math of the election outcome is that Americans actually love Donald Trump.  They love everything he stands for, everything he said he would do and is doing.   He deeply loves our country and will protect it and support a healthy livelihood on all fronts.  People forgive Trump for a few unpresidential gaffs in decorum.  Sometimes his outrage is necessary for clarity or realignment.  It is his performance that is stellar.  Most Americans feel this way.  The rest of Americans cannot prove otherwise.  But why are we having to state the obvious with the election win?  An election is not war.  It is a means of justice.

To continue the theme of embarrassing, ambiguous behavior Democrats now dance, sing, raise fists in silence, swear, and chant.  They chant things that are more ambiguous than their solutions to problems.  They don’t articulate problems that bear any resemblance to reality.  Therefore, with nothing to say, they’ve made silence their new strategy!  Hip swinging, forms of line dancing, or fist pumping in silence.  Silence is the new charm in the debate hall.  But is it?  America prides itself on intelligent discourse.  We are grown-ups.

But actually, silence is not new.  Biden was silent.  He hid in his house.  Harris was a somewhat different version of silent – she was beautiful and she nodded and her eyes twinkled and she giggled.  Harris was like the opening credits to a great movie.  Only the film never rolled.  Never did she share a compelling, useful, original idea or solution.  She was a bundle of confused platitudes.  And since this didn’t sell well with the public, she went silent.  Silence is the very, very last resort.  I imagine we can expect some whirling, kicking videos next, or maybe a video of a big wordless food fight to remind us of what our forefathers created and what our soldiers died for.

Yes, of course there’s a way out of this whole problem for the DEMS.  And amazingly, the Democrats are openly asking questions amongst themselves of how to win.  Here’s my answer:  If winning is your objective, quit.  If posturing is your objective, quit.  If people-pleasing is your objective, quit.  If articulating your superimposed, condescending concepts of the needs of minorities is your objective, quit.  If placating “poor people” or “rich people” is your objective, quit.

By all means, if you are in politics for the right reasons, stay.  If you care about America and Americans, stay.  If you embrace good values, stay, if you value protecting human life, stay, eliminating waste and debt, stay, supporting peace, stay.  But your actions do not support this.

DEMS are at a loss for how to identify and solve problems.  Even when problems are self-evident.  Addressing issues is not necessarily complicated.  If your house was on fire, you would know just what to do.  When running your family you know just what to do.  You protect your home, you promote the health and happiness of your children and you watch your budget.  Why are we questioning these basics that are exactly the same for the country?  Democrats dream up random, unrealistic missions, leaving the obvious issues unattended.

Democrats also balk at solutions if they came from the wrong mouth.  Yes, Trump created The Department of Government Efficiency!  Finally!!!  Let’s watch our spending!! We’ve all wanted and needed to for so long!!! All recent presidents have wanted this on both sides!  We owe 36 trillion!  But wait—the DEMS don’t like this?  Trump did not say The Department of Government Eradication, Extinction or Extermination.  Trump did not say The Department of Government Extravagance, Entertainment, Effervescence or Excess.  It is the Department of Government Efficiency.

There is something wrong.  There is a lot wrong.  This just is not the time for the Democratic Party.  Parties evolve.  Democrats, you will always have a legacy to be proud of.  But too much has changed and gone awry.  And it’s not your fault.  It’s the leaders’ fault.  The Democratic Party now stand’s for lying, cheating, stealing, dysfunction, disregard, disrespect and dead silence.  The Party’s over.  It is time to pivot.
